Phase 1 - Easing the lockdown

26 May 20

It was such great news to hear that canoeing would be possible during phase 1 of easing lockdown restrictions. And it is fantastic for anyone who lives within a 5 mile radius of water. Unfortunately, for me that is not the case - I knew I should have moved to the coast year.

I am really pleased for those that (hopefully) can paddle from 28th May. Dun Eideann Sea Kayaking cannot as yet. I cannot travel to the coast as I live too far away and we can only meet with one other family at present. Hopefully, this will change soon if coronavirus continues to slow down, but for now I will continue to enjoy the time with my family, exploring local places and creating special memories.

It would be worth looking at The Scottish Canoe Associations website for up to date advice on when and where we can paddle as the lockdown restrictions ease.  https://www.canoescotland.org/sca-statement-on-return-to-paddling.

Stay safe folks.

What our clients say...

"This was truly one of the most unique, satisfying, and enjoyable experiences of our entire UK trip! George is a master kayak guide, whose knowledge of the Scottish coast terrain, flora, and fauna will teach and entertain you on your kayaking adventure! George was very careful to assess our level of comfort, and fully let us dictate the desired strenuousness of our kayaking trip. We visited two rocky islands off the coast and got to see loads of birds and seals! I couldn't recommend this enough to anyone who enjoys, or is curious to experience, kayaking. George is the perfect guide to introduce you to the Scottish coastal experience!"

 Pieter, New York

"We had an amazing experience kayaking in the sea by North Berwick. George is a brilliant teacher and we felt safe all the time. My two teenagers were so happy and inspired after the trip. We saw plenty of sea birds, including puffins. We also saw seals sunning themselves on the rocks of the islands that we paddled around. I would definitely recommend this experience! Make sure to bring sun protection , although George had thought of that too and let us use his :)"

 Malin, Sweden

"George was taking our group for a course assessment. Always friendly and relaxed yet totally professional, (....this guy really knows his stuff! ) He turned a fairly challenging day into a great day on the water....I learned a lot."
